He was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer on Feb. 9, 2001
he was always a very healthy cat. neutered, declawed, and an
indoor cat.
he weighed 13 lbs at his healthiest just a few months
before his illness.
within 2 months he lost half his weight, and
we were alerted to "something wrong".
in the beginning it was
assumed he had IBD, brought on by a food change that did not agree with
him.
but as he continued losing weight (now weighs 4 lbs 1 oz.) and
becoming thinner..
it was time to see the Vet.
the Vet did an
exam and was concerned, ordered x-rays which confirmed his lymphoma
cancer.
it was advanced, and at this point I was told there was
nothing we could do for him, but make him comfy.
thats what we did
.. spending as much time with him and loving him as much as we could !
He was a real trooper... he did not want to leave this world, but
his poor little body couldn't take much more... and he quietly slipped
away in the wee hours of March 6th 2001.
I was able to sit and rock
him as he slipped away. it was hard for me, but I think it may have made
it easier for him .
I miss him so very much.

~You're Being Blessed through Prayer~
It's a
difficult time you're going through
So prayers to the Lord are being
said for you
For the peace and the comfort you need so much
of
God's love and care and healing touch
That will wipe away your
tears for you
Bringing a smile to your face as HE blesses you
Yes its a difficult time you're going through
But through
prayer you're being blessed,
because God loves you.

A Prayer for Animals
Hear our humble prayer,
O God,
for our friends, the animals,
especially for those who are suffering;
for any that are lost or deserted
or frightened or hungry.
We entreat for them all
Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them,
we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves,
to be true friends to animals
and so to share
the blessings
of the merciful.

Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

My Heart Will Go On
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on.
Far across the distance and spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone.
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold you
In my life we'll always go on.
Near, far wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you open the door
And you're hear in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.

A Parting Prayer
Dear Lord, please open your gates
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.
Assign him to a place of honor,
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always done his best to please me.
Bless the hands that send him to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing him from pain and suffering.
Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor him
by sharing those memories with others.
Let him remember me as well
and let him know that I will always love him.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow him to accompany those
who will bring me home.
Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of his companionship
and for the time we've had together.
And thank you, Lord,
for granting me the strength
to give him to you now.
Amen.
